pregnancy and postpartum support

Becoming a parent is a huge transition. Are you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure of your identity since becoming a mother? Do you find yourself snapping at others or crying easily? Do you compare yourself negatively to other parents? Do you feel like you are alone in your suffering?

You’re not alone. Depression and anxiety are common during and after pregnancy; 1 in 7 women experience perinatal mental health issues. The good news is that these issues are very treatable, and with support you can start feeling better. Therapy can help you learn to thrive as you start or grow your family.

My practice is a non-judgmental space for finding wholeness and happiness in motherhood. I have training in perinatal therapy through Postpartum Support International and offer supportive psychotherapy for women coping with a variety of postpartum issues.

Therapy is a safe place to discuss:

  • Coping with difficult or complicated pregnancies

  • Preparing for childbirth

  • Adjustment to parenthood

  • Postpartum depression or anxiety

  • Postpartum rage

  • Scary thoughts

  • Traumatic birth experiences

Babies are always welcome in session, either by telehealth or in the office. I also offer occasional couples sessions to work through parenting challenges as a team.

LGBTQ parenting

I understand that the challenges of pregnancy and postpartum adjustment aren’t limited to mothers. I offer supportive therapy to gender-diverse birth parents and their partners using a queer-affirmative perspective.

You are not alone. You are not to blame. With help, you can feel better.
